Separate invited sealed bids will be accepted for the following projects. The projects listed below are located approximately 23 miles apart; however one general contractor will be selected for both projects.

VONORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RENOVATIONS AND ADDITION

VONORE, TENNESSEE

Project scope will consist of interior renovation of existing the 1951, 1974 (upper and lower level), and 1978 classrooms included new finishes, electric HVAC units,  energy efficient lighting, and electrical system upgrades; restroom renovations and new faculty rooms; ADA upgrades throughout the building; The existing 1978 gymnasium will be renovated to include all new finishes, electric  HVAC units, energy efficient lighting, and electrical system upgrades;Addition of new library with connecting corridor and nurse's station. Also included are the upgrades to all security, intercom, bell, phone and data systems.

TELLICO PLAINS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL RENOVATIONS AND ADDITION

TELLICO PLAINS, TENNESSEE

Project scope will consist of the conversion of the existing gym/cafeteria back to gym only with renovations to include all new finishes, electric HVAC units, energy efficient lightening, and electrical system upgrades; renovations to existing classrooms including new finishes, electric HVAC units, energyefficient lighting, and electrical system upgrades; restroom renovations at the clinic; new faculty restrooms; ADA upgrades throughout the building; Addition of new kitchen and cafeteria with connecting corridor. Also included are the upgrades to all security, intercom, bell, phone and data systems.

Bids will be received by Monroe County Schools, at 205 Oak Grove Road, Madisonville, Tennessee 37354, until 2:00 PM, Local Time, on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, and then at said time publicly opened and read aloud. Bids will be awarded @ 10:00 a.m. on March 16th, by the Purchasing Committee, within a meeting held at the J.P. Kennedy Building, located at 103 College Street, Madisonville, TN.

All bidders must be licensed Contractors as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1976 (TCA Title 62, Chapter 6). No Bid will be opened unless the outside of the sealed envelope containing the bid provides the following information: the Contractor's license number, the date of the license's expiration, and a quotation of that part of his classification applying to the bid. All bids must be made out on the Bid Form provided with the contract documents.

With his bid, each bidder must deposit security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, subject to the conditions stated in the Instructions to Bidders.

No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
